It's time I had some time alone...

****************************************

its a long way to home. such a tricky road to navigate paved with so many histories like ghost stories we choke on as they creep from our throats and through the cracks in our teeth. its a long way to anywhere from here. i just wish i knew where here was. and i wish i understood the concept of history.

hanging out tonight i felt as if i was in a universe without much history. as if we were creating a new history. but maybe we all try too hard, or maybe thats just me. it is strange for me to have to tell people about my wonderful relationship with a certain song. all my friends know about that already. shold i even bother telling people who don't know? does it matter to them?

after dropping you off i listened to Dusty in memphis...goddam it is such a beautiful and amazing record. it makes me think of so many beautiful and sad things. Dusty Springfield is really a goddess and made me pine for music that could touch the soul...i wonder...why do companies still produce recordings that are 30, 40, 50 years old...there is stuff even older...the first miles davis record was about 60 years ago...not quite...but close...why are these still made and bought, not only by nostalgia driven adults, but kids thirsty for exciting music...if the present is just the accumulation of history...each moment added tot he previous one like a gargantuoum rubberband ball or a gum tree...why is that music relevant...shouldnt the music made after it have improved upon it?...shouldnt all that is being made now, be everything that once was but more?...why do bands like The Who, The Rolling Stones, David Bowie, Marvin Gaye, The Beatles, The Doors...why do they still outshine 99.999999 percent of what we call rock music today...its all about heart...and the energy that ties us all together...how do people not miss the electric moment of a needle on vinyl the hiss and then the excitement of a rock and roll masterpiece...the opening moments of pure enlightment and inspiration filled with so much heart...why do people settle for N'Sync, Britney Spears, Blink 182, Coldplay, Creed, Hey Mercedes, or The Get Up Kids when they can drop a needle and blow their mind to the opening synth loop of Baba O'Riley...the loop that opens "Who's Next" one of the most brilliant rock albums ever made...the loop that is soon buried under the most electrifying three rock chords ever channeled from a microphone onto analog tape then pressed into a groove on a record...the celebration of disgust in the 'teenage wasteland..."

why is the human spirit just so dead these days, that even the bands who make challenging and electrifying music are, for the most part chained tot he underground...

this is only the begging of my love letter campaing to the ghost of rock and roll and the ghost of the human spirit...cameron crowe had almost famous...i am waging all out war...

what the fuck is this world coming too...

don't cry, don't raise your eye. its only teenage wasteland.

they call me the seeker, ive been searching low and high.

you say you want a revolution...

pleased to meet you...hope you guessed my name...

xoxo
