tonight i met a guy from out east who is a firefighter. we talked little but he really cut to the core on some stuff. it was odd. i dunno, no point in going into detail, but we talked about the character of bill the butcher from gangs of new york, and then about the need for hard people, and the need for artists and intellectuals and how we all need each other. this was all discussed in about seven sentences.�
