2001-09-11 - 12:21 p.m. - morning reflections on smoke and busted glass pt. VI

outside it sounds like there are sirens racing through their streets but really its just america's tv sets singing the chorus to the saddest pop song ever sung. like i said: "it when you hear the sirens that you know yr fucked."

this is bigger than king kong.

the man from the taliban said he sympathized with the american children. what a beautiful sentiment. how tragic but not as sentimental as it seems. what a political statement. much more insightful than anything our leaders said. our children, just like children our country oppresses, are now oppressed, emotionally, some physically.

i have to pull the needle from my arm now and go to class.

"everybody just needs to be calm and go on with their lives" someone on the news just said.

fuck that. fuck calm. this is the great american tragedy that everybody knew was coming, no specifics or details, but it was building, a sick feeling that badness was coming our way. but even when you know a loved one is going to die it hits you hard.

lets make sure that all sides of this event are documented fairly. this is history and it deserves to be viewed objectively. these attacks were brutal and heartless but not senseless, these people had a reason for this, we still don't knowfor sure , but speculation points in that direction. but even if it was all this violence is devastating and uncalled for.

here is to understanding each other. and still for compassion.

we are an arrogant country.

here is for peace.
