2001-07-26 - 1:28 p.m. - i love you, all.

everybody has a broken heart and nothing is quite as beautiful as it used to be. remember when romance was sweet and made people feel loved? sure, it wasn't honest or even real, but those moments when we all thought we were in love were beautiful. and now im relegated to to myself, which isn't a bad thing but one begins to miss the close friends, which there are very few of left, and the idea of being love, and holding somebody close. i could write a list of names of the people that have abandoned us for drugs, or moved away, or just stopped calling, and i'd fly it from an airplane so that nobody could ever forget the transient nature of friendship.

I have been thinking alot about these things:

sidewalk chalk. what comes next.

going to london to visit tony.

my musical project with joel and dave.

the drowned museum.

getting a record by a band called THe Lightning Bolt.

finishing my season on Ken Griffey Jr. slugfest.

start writing a novel and actually following through with it.

finish a ton of peoms and make a chap book, or send them off and give 7 of them to seth to make art with.

and i also think of you. and here are things you should remember every day:

1. don't think about your next destination until you are in transit.

2. being pragmatic is good. being cynical is bad (don't turn out like me)

3. don't hold on too tight, don't let the world pass you by.

we are tinfoil flowers, all of us, constructed delicately, meticulously by the flow of time over our skin, shaping us, curving us in misdirections and elongated moments.

so we have nothing to hold on to and nothing, really to believe in, you know?

there are a lot of people i believe in. and maybe thats all i need.

don't stop breathing.

xoxo: soophie nun squad. lovesick, the mountain goats, stereolab.
